July 2016 Athlete of the Month

So what exactly makes up an Athlete of the Month?  It’s not that this person is able to Rx every workout, lift the most weight or do every movement with perfect form.  What makes an Athlete of the Month is that every time they come to the box, they try their hardest, give the workout their all, and then some.  They go above and beyond by spending extra time to work on specific skills, are welcoming of others and encourage other athletes to do their best, too.  They really embody what CrossFit is all about and work to make CrossFit Frankfort the community and family that it is.  Each month we will choose a different Athlete and post some fun facts about them to help you get to know them better.

We’re excited to announce Kali Gerace as our July 2016 Athlete of the Month!  Kali hasn’t even been with us a year yet, but she is very consistent with her attendance and always pushing herself.  Did I mention that she’s also 7 mos pregnant?!  While there are some modifications that need to be made, she still challenges herself with each WOD and cheers others on to do the same.  She’s just a joy to be around, has an infectious laugh and is an inspiration to others, which is why we’re excited to have her as our July 2016 Athlete of the Month!

We’re excited to announce that our May 2016 Athlete of the Month is Lisa Fernandez!  Lisa is a regular at the 1100 class MWF.  When Lisa first started, she was full of self doubt and negative talk.  Two plus years, two nutrition challenges and many WODs later, she’s cheering others on and doing reps with others if they are still WODing after she’s done…even on burpees!  She has really gotten outside of her comfort zone to try new things and really push herself.  This dramatic change in approach and attitude is what has landed her here as our Athlete of the Month and we are so excited to recognize her as such!

We’re excited to announce that our March 2016 Athlete of the Month is Tyler Woolums!  Tyler isn’t really tied to any one class time, as he works a shift schedule and also coaches baseball, so his class time depends on his schedule that day.  No matter what class he comes to or how much sleep he has had, he attacks every single workout!  He’s not only a hard charger, but a huge encourager to those around him.  His positive attitude is highly contagious.  We’re super proud of the progress he’s made in the short time he’s been with us and love what he adds to our community!  This is why we’re so pumped to have him as our March 2016 Athlete of the Month!
