March 2015 Athlete of the Month

So what exactly makes up an Athlete of the Month?  It’s not that this person is able to Rx every workout, lift the most weight or do every movement with perfect form.  What makes an Athlete of the Month is that every time they come to the box, they try their hardest, give the workout their all, and then some.  They go above and beyond by spending extra time to work on specific skills, are welcoming of others and encourage other athletes to do their best, too.  They really embody what CrossFit is all about and work to make CrossFit Frankfort the community and family that it is.  Each month we will choose a different Athlete and post some fun facts about them to help you get to know them better.

Our March 2015 Athlete of the Month is Nabeen Thakur!  Nabeen typically attends the evening classes during the week.  He’s been with us for less than 6 months but has seen so much progress!  He’s very conscious of his form, but once he has a movement consistently, he pushed himself with it, but also isn’t afraid to scale.  He’s a hard worker and very dedicated.  No matter the WOD, he shows up and puts in the work.  We also want to take this opportunity to congratulate Nabeen on recently becoming a U.S. Citizen and his engagement!  We’re very excited to have you as our March Athlete of the Month!

Our February Athlete of the Month is Anne-Marie Tanner!  During the week you’ll find Anne-Marie at the 1100 class and sticking around for open gym.  She has great kinesthetic awareness and is very conscious of her form.  She pushes herself to be sure her last rep is as good, if not better than the first.  Anne-Marie’s positive attitude and energy is what makes her such a joy to be around and coach!  We hope you enjoy getting to know her a little bit better…we are delighted to have her as our February 2015 Athlete of the Month.

Our January Athlete of the Month is Coe Norton!  Most recently you’ll find Coe at the 0700 class, as well at the evening classes.  He usually shows up about half way through the 1600 class and, some nights, even hangs out through the 1800 class.  His form and range of motion have come a long way over the last year!  He’s set some goals, is gearing up for deployment and has really been pushing himself the last few months.  We’re stoked to have Coe as our January 2015 Athlete of the Month and look forward to what all this year has in store for you!

Our December Athlete of the Month is Matt Wolf.  Matt is a Monday to Friday, 0500 regular, and most recently in the evening as well, doing “StrongLifts.”  Matt is constantly pushing himself to be better than he was the day before.  He started with a really good base, but has seen a lot of improvement over the short time he’s been here.  He’s a hard worker, very coachable and we’re delighted to have him as our December  Athlete of the Month!

Our November Athlete of the Month is Rob Cornwell.  Typically Rob can be found in the 1600 class and sometimes Saturdays, especially if there is a Hero WOD.  If there is someone new that he has not met, Rob is always there to greet them, introduce himself and welcome them to the box.  He’s a hard worker and has really been challenging himself on the nutrition side of things lately, as well.  He’s a great athlete, but most importantly, a great person and we’re thrilled to have him as our Athlete of the Month.
