CrossFit is constantly varied, functional movement performed at high intensity.  It is a core strength and conditioning program designed to optimize physical competence in each of ten recognized fitness domains: cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.

Constantly Varied:  Routine is the enemy of true fitness.  We take traditional strength training exercises, gymnastics and metabolic conditioning exercises (“cardio”) and mix them in such a way that it will always keep you on your toes.  This keeps your body from getting used to your workouts so you don’t plateau and will continue to improve.  Your workouts won’t get boring or old because they will always be different!

Functional Movement:  The human body was designed for function and the movements we teach are based on the natural movements that our bodies were built for.  We do not isolate muscle groups and believe that compound, multi-joint exercises are vastly superior to simple, single-joint exercises that have no real world application outside of the gym.  For example, squats and deadlifts are two of the exercises we use to train the lower body.  A squat is simply standing from a seated position.  A deadlift is simply picking something up off the floor.  You will find no real world application for the leg curl or leg extension outside of the gym.  Functional movement is natural and safe.  It is also the most effective and efficient way to improve overall strength, core stability, agility, and flexibility and contributes immensely to improved quality of life.

High Intensity:  Intensity is your average power, which is how much weight you can move over the longest distance in the shortest amount of time.  We want you to keep the intensity as high as you can while maintaining proper form and technique.  While intensity will vary from person to person, maintaining that high level is what brings the results!

CrossFit Kids

CrossFit Kids is NOT simply a scaled down version of CrossFit, but geared toward and designed entirely for kids and their specific developmental needs; neurological, cognitive and motor.  CrossFit Kids is a strength and conditioning program, specifically for kids and teenagers to not only help them develop a lifelong love of fitness, but to improve their physical competence in each of the ten fitness domains: cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.

Our Kids classes are conducted in a group setting where the kids and teens will participate in a fun and engaging workouts consisting of constantly varied, functional movements.  They are broad, inclusive, general, and scalable to any level, delivering measurable results and well-rounded athletes.  The workouts are always different so the kids don’t get bored and stay excited to attend class.  Kids pull, push, run,throw, climb, lift and jump in their everyday play.  The kids are taught the foundations of these functional movements under the close supervision of our trained CrossFit Kids Trainer.  By being broad, general and inclusive, we don’t train the kids to become better at just one thing.  They become well rounded athletes improving their competence in the 10 domains listed above, making them better at any sport they choose to participate in.  More important than their physical ability, CrossFit Kids will improve their confidence and self esteem.  Bottom line is this:  We train the kids in our community to change the future!
